Congratulations Shahlan & Nur Ain

Today we attended a wedding ceremony of one of the BAT players, Shahlan. He is one of our top defenders and even though we are having a match later on this evening, there is no reason to be worried for not having him on the field because our opponent are not really that though. I forgot to ask him when he is going for the honeymoon because there will be a cup match next week and a potential of three more cup matches for the coming months. And I deliberately forgot to tell his wife welcoming her to the Sunday Football Widow club. :)

Congratulations Iliyas (Lopes) and Faezah

Today we attended a wedding reception of my junior undergraduate in the Lancaster University, Lopes. We used to play football together and he was the Malaysian Students Society president. Currently he is working with the Selangor government as their economic adviser. I wish him and his wife a blissful wedding and may they live happily ever after.

Congratulations Haliazni and Hafidz

Today we were invited to attend the wedding reception of Yana's younger sister, Haliazni in Batu Caves. We are quite excited because there will be many ex-Lancastrians attending and this can be considered as a small reunion for us. Yana and her family are actually still living in the UK and they came back home to Malaysia especially for this wedding. It's good to keep touch with those who shared all the good memories with you in Lancaster.

Congratulations Tengku Suleiman and Fatimah

One of Jo's cousins is having a wedding ceremony today in Kuala Lumpur and we accepted their invitation. When we took our seats, we were quite surprised to see our friend, Abas and his family, seated just next to our table. Abas was Jo's schoolmate when they were in MRSM Kuantan and he was my housemate when we studied for A-Level in the UK. It turned out that his wife is a cousin of the bridegroom, just like Jo. What a small world.

Congratulations Reilis and Shareena

I'm very happy today because one of my ANSARA Taiping football players is getting married today. After having meal at their wedding reception, I apologised to Reilis' wife in advance because we have to 'borrow' him from time to time to play with us during the weekend. I also found out that she supported Manchester United and considering that Reilis is a Liverpool fan, I'm sure their marriage will be a lively affair. :)

Afida's wedding

Afida invited us for her wedding in Kelantan but we couldn't make it, so we came to the groom side wedding instead in Kuala Lumpur. She is one of my best friends and I first met her when we were in Standard One, which was about 27 years ago. She is now working as a medical doctor in New Zealand and her husband is working with Petronas and about to be stationed in Uzbekistan. She said her marriage is a PJJ which stands for 'Perkahwinan Jarak Jauh'.
