Final lecture for my executive students

Today is the final lecture session for my executive programme students before the final examination to be held in two weeks time. They also had to submit their assignments today which constitutes 20% of their overall mark. For this assignment, they need to start a business venture with a capital of RM10 which include a RM2 investment from me. If they make a profit, they need to hand me back the money that I invested and also the profit based on the percentage of capital held. If they suffer a loss, they just need to return back to me any remaining investment by me also based on the percentage of capital held. Overall, I didn't make any extraordinary return on my investments of 14 students. I gave all the investment money (plus some profit) to one of the students and he went to buy dinners for all of us. I think everyone got to eat one piece of KFC chicken. I managed to grab two.

Rhinos 3 - 3 Beavers

Today is the first league match and Ilyas brought lots of supporters with him including Tok Wan's family and Enol and Tina. Whilst the supporters are helping themselves with the picnic meals, the coach is fretting and the players are toiling on the pitch. After two quarters the Rhinos are leading 3-1 through a hatrick by Hisham. Ilyas missed a couple of chances early in the game. However the Beavers fought back and they managed to score two consecutive goals to even the score. There is some drama towards the end where one of the Beavers player received a yellow card for handling the ball. The next match will be in two weeks time and hopefully the Rhinos will get their first win of the season.

Training before a big match

Today is the last training session before the official league match starts for LBJB (Liga Bolasepak Junior Bangi) this Sunday. Ilyas is in Rhinos team and they will be facing Beavers in their first league match. During the pre-season match they drew 0-0 so it's going to be an interesting one to watch. During training Ilyas managed to score two goals. I hope he will continue his scoring form tomorrow.

Here She Comes Again

I opened the back door today and the cat is nowhere to be seen. When Ilyas came to the door, the cat suddenly showed up! What's next? Give her a proper name?

Flash Flood in Ilyas' School

This evening it was raining heavily and as I arrived at the school parking area, it looks more like a river. The kids are of course delighted with this and some of them just walk straight into the water, much to the chagrin of their parents and caretakers. There is definitely something wrong with the drainage system and I hope the school will figure out ways to solve it.

A new visitor

We came home around 7pm today and when Umi opened the back door, there she is. Our back garden has been littered with cat poos but we never saw the culprit, until now. Ilyas and Maisarah are understandably excited but we make it clear to them that the cat is not allowed to enter the house. So Ilyas fed the cat with 'keropok' just outside the grill. I got a feeling that this is not the last time we will see her.

Presentation by my students

So far 10 groups of my students have presented their reports in front of the class. Two more remaining before I can grade and submit the marks to the university. Overall, I think they did great and some of them are really excellent in presenting their arguments and getting the points across the audience, in English if I may add. I hope this high standard will remains with their second presentations which will be starting after the Chinese New Year.

360 degree of view

Nazran, a former student of Sekolah Menengah Bandar Baru Bangi (SMKBBB) messaged me in the Facebook today. He just finished his latest project, which is the 360 degree view of various buildings of SMKBBB. I am very impressed with his works, it is as if you are actually standing there in the school. You can go to the site here and have fun with your mouse. If you want to explore more than a school, why not go to this site and explore the whole of Bandar Baru Bangi! His main website is here where you can sample his other projects as well. Finally, this is his dream, to do this to our own capital city, Kuala Lumpur. Are you excited? I know I am.
