Such a Beautiful House

When we attended the wedding reception of Yana's sister, we took the opportunity to look inside her father's house who has been renovated recently. I have never seen so many wallpapers inside a house in Malaysia before because I thought it will simply won't stand the hot and humidity temperature of a tropical country. Apparently nowadays with the right materials you can just do practically anything in order to design your dream home. The designs were commissioned by Yana's older sister who has her own interior design business. I took the opportunity to have a look in every room in the house under the guide of Yana herself. Each room has its own unique design but I forgot to take picture on some of the rooms because there are so many beautiful things to look at! I'm sure this house will be featured in a lifestyle magazine sooner or later and I'm glad to see it beforehand with my very own eyes.

Congratulations Haliazni and Hafidz

Today we were invited to attend the wedding reception of Yana's younger sister, Haliazni in Batu Caves. We are quite excited because there will be many ex-Lancastrians attending and this can be considered as a small reunion for us. Yana and her family are actually still living in the UK and they came back home to Malaysia especially for this wedding. It's good to keep touch with those who shared all the good memories with you in Lancaster.

Karnival Sukan Keluarga Seksyen 8

This is the second time our community held a sports carnival among the residents but it is our first time of joining them. The event started with aerobics and aikido demonstration. Afterwards Ilyas and Maisarah participated in the kids event, followed by the parents. I even volunteered to take part in the tug-of-war between Phase One and Phase Two. Last year Phase Two (my team) won this event and I'm determined to help them to retain the annual cup. We lost the first round but managed to win in the second round to force it into a final round. In the final round we won and thus keeping the cup for the second year running. Everybody participating in the sports carnival were given souvenirs and I think the organiser has done a good job in promoting friendship and good neighbourhood spirit among the residents.

Chicken King

We were on our way to Sharifah Restaurant when Ilyas saw this restaurant and insisted that we have our dinner there. So we make a detour and parked right in front of the shop. I ordered a lamb chop which is quite OK and Jo ordered spaghetti. I especially like their potato wedges because it tastes sweet. The final bill is a bit pricier though, around RM50 for a family like us.

ACT3126

Today is the first day of my lecture and for this semester I will be teaching Advanced Financial Accounting I. In this course I will teach the third year accounting students on group accounting and issues of consolidation. At the moment I'm lecturing to around 130 students divided into three separate groups. Tuesday will be my busiest day as I will be teaching for five hours (with a break of two hours in between, thank God).

Liga Alumni Division One first match - ANSARA Taiping 1 SJAA 1

Today is the first league match for the Division One of Liga Alumni 2010. ANSARA Taiping will be facing last year champions, SJAA. We lost 1-4 to them in the last year league match but we managed to drew 1-1 with them in the semi final of Piala ANSARA before eventually lost out on penalties. However, our confidence is high and this is demonstrated by the almost full attendance of the players.

We couldn't ask a better start of the game when our winger, Mujahid scored within the first minute through a speculative long shot. However, this makes SJAA really determined to get an equaliser and throughout the first half we were basically been pushed back towards our own area. Luckily we managed to remain clean sheet until half time. In the second half we made several tactical substitutions and it shows when we managed to finally control the game and made several attempts towards their goal. Unfortunately their striker managed to persuade the referee to give him a penalty when Madun, our captain clashed with him in the penalty area. They duly scored the penalty and the result stays the same until the end.

The players were a bit disappointed for not been able to register a win in their first match but to share a point with SJAA is quite an achievement. I'm sure they are really looking forward to get their first 3 points when they meet MCOBA in two weeks time.
