Snake Show at the National Museum

Snakes in the Museum

Snake Exhibition in National Museum, Kuala Lumpur

The Wonderfully Quaint Names for the Sultanate Headgears

National Museum, Kuala Lumpur

When we arrived at the museum, we were informed that the snake show will only starts in one and a half hours so we decided to tour the main building first. I thought the kids will get bored easily but the interactive screens and imaginative displays managed to keep them captivated for quite a long time. At least they will learn a little bit of our history.

Istana Negara

I took a day off today to bring Ilyas, Maisarah, Eela and Ariffin to visit Muzium Negara. On the way we stopped by at the gate of Istana Negara. I'm always curious what exactly is attracting so many tourists to this spot as I've never stopped there whenever I'm traveling along the Jalan Istana. The royal guards are quite accommodating and not really fierce looking. One of them even put his hand on Maisarah's shoulder during the photo session. After spending like 5 minutes there we are back on our way to to museum.

Dodol - the finished product

Abang Mat, one of my neighbours came to my house just now and gave me the dodol, the one that I have helped to make early in this morning. There is also an extra ingredient inside and it's durian. I immediately tried it and I think this is one of the best one I've ever had. Of course I'm a bit biased here.

Dodol

I received an invitation through email several days ago to participate in the dodol making activity organised by the neighbours. Since I never experience what it feels like to make this delicious dish (made from rice flour and lots of sugar), I'm waiting for the day to come with a bit of curiosity and anticipation. They decided to cook the dodol during the midnight and expecting to finish it by the early morning. I went to the wakaf area about midnight time and helped them stirring the dodol. There were around 15 of us, each taking turn to keep the dodol moving in the big wok. By 3am Nazrul and I were a bit tired and sleepy so we decided to call it a day (or night..or morning..whatever). I haven't see the finished product yet. I hope it tastes good.
