Today LBJB team participated in the Bank Rakyat Football tournament and they will be representing Bangi branch. To enter into this tournament they need to have a Kelab Nuri bank account with Bank Rakyat. Ilyas' team are participating in the Under 8 category and five teams are competing under that category. Unfortunately Kelana Jaya team pulled out at the last minute.
In the first match Bangi team managed to beat Shah Alam team with the score of 3-2. After that Bangi easily won their next two matches by beating Sri Iskandar/Jelapang 6-0 and Sg. Buluh 4-0. In the final Bangi faced Shah Alam and it was an intense match. The first half ended 0-0. Towards the end of the second half, our top striker Haziq finally managed to beat Shah Alam goalkeeper. When the final whistle was blown, the parents immediately took to the field and celebrated with the players.
For being the champions, the team received RM500 (to be deposited equally into each player's Kelab Nuri bank account) and each player receives a medal and gifts from Bank Rakyat and Figos. Haziq received another RM50 for becoming top scorer in the tournament with 10 goals. Congratulations to Ilyas for winning his first football tournament, something that his father has never done before.
